55 new cases of Coronavirus have been recorded in Northumberland during the last 24-hour period.

This means that there have now been 17,970 positive cases of Covid-19 since last March.

Although there has been a rise in positive cases, Public Health England figures show that there have been no further Covid-19 related deaths in Northumbria NHS Trust Hospitals.

Three wards in our area of Northumberland have recorded five or more case in the last seven day period: Stocksfield and Broomhaugh and Prudhoe North have both recorded 5, while Corbridge has had 8.

All other wards with more than five cases are in East or South Northumberland.

Last week, senior Northumberland figures reminded the public not to drop their guard after the Delta variant became the dominant strain in the county.
