Valentines Day may have departed but the hamlet of Lambley, south west Tynedale, keeps hearts in mind with free CPR and defibrillator training.

Slated for February 21 at 7pm at Lambley Village Hall, the practical course aims to increase local knowledge about cardiac arrest recognition, response tactics, and defibrillator use.

Luka Miceli, who is inviting everyone to join him at the session, said: "Millions of us watch paramedics and others on popular TV shows use life-saving equipment and do CPR, yet most of us wouldn't know how to recognise a cardiac arrest or how to respond, or others may just may like a refresher.

"All levels of knowledge are welcome.

"We are also adding to the evening an introductory session on defibrillators.

"Most village halls have these installed, and there has been an increase in sales with many private households or sports teams now owning portable appliances.

"It's our mission to encourage more people in our local rural communities to be confident to act in helping to save lives."

A fundraising collection and a raffle will also be held.
