AS Remembrance Day approaches, residents look to pay their respects to the fallen of both World Wars and reflect on the conflicts which continue to claim the lives of people across the world.
We rounded up some of the events that are taking place across our communities this year.
1 Peace Walk and annual Remembrance Day event, Hexham
The first of Hexham's events will be the Peace Walk which will take place on Saturday, November 11 at 2pm and begin at the Bandstand in the Sele Park.
The traditional annual Remembrance Day event will take place on Sunday, November 12 at 10.30am starting from the Market Place, travelling along Beaumont Street and up to the War Memorial.
2 Remembrance Sunday Parade, Prudhoe
Prudhoe will remember the fallen on November 12. The parade will start at The Legion car park at 10.30am and march through Front Street to the Lych Gate War Memorial.
The Act of Remembrance and Laying of Wreaths outside of St Mary Magdalene will take place, followed by a church service, before marching back to The Legion.
From 10.20am-1pm, a road closure will be in place in the centre of Prudhoe and in all directions at the Station Road crossroads and in both directions at the bottom of South Road including Kepwell.
3 Remembrance Day Parade and Service, Ponteland
The parade will leave Ponteland Leisure Centre at 10.40am on November 12 and arrive at the war memorial outside Ponteland Memorial Hall at 11am.
A service will take place and wreaths will be laid. The parade will return to the Leisure Centre afterwards.
4 Remembrance Sunday Service, Wylam
After a shortened church service at Wylam Methodist Church, the congregation, which will include army representatives from the Royal Horse Artillery based at Albemarle and the various Wylam Uniformed Youth Organisations, will march to the Village War Memorial for the traditional Act of Remembrance and wreath laying at 11am.
5 Remembrance Service and Parade, Corbridge
An Armistice Day Lych Gate service will take place at the Parish Church of St Andrew at 11am on Saturday, November 11 followed by the parade through Corbridge.
The church will hold a Remembrance Sunday service at 10.40am on November 12.
