A PEACE walk will reflect on global conflict this weekend.
Hexham Town Twinning Association, in partnership with Hexham Town Council, has organised a second Peace Walk to take place as part of Remembrance Weekend events in Hexham.
Anyone is welcome to join the walk, which will begin at the Bandstand in the Sele Park at 2pm on Saturday, November 11.
Together with people in Hexham's twin towns of Noyon in France and Metzingen in Germany, participants will show their desire and support for peace and will remember all those caught up in conflict around the world.
Metzingen and Noyon will hold similar events at the same time.
The walk will pass through significant places in Hexham and will include short readings and musical presentations.
The first Hexham Peace Walk was held last year and took place on the Saturday afternoon of Remembrance Weekend, in recognition of the February 2022 invasion of Ukraine and the number of Ukrainian families Hexham was hosting.
This year, the Peace Walk will again recognise the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and also the recent conflict in Gaza and Israel.
The Peace Walk will begin at the Bandstand, move to the Cenotaph, on to the Community Centre and railway station, and return to the Bandstand and St Mary’s Church for refreshments.
