Looking back at Easter bank holiday activities in Tynedale

The long Bank Holiday weekend for Easter has become a tradition for related activities, so we looked back through our archives to share memories of how you have celebrated Easter over the years.

Whether making Easter bonnets or searching for Easter eggs, the children of the district have grown accustomed to getting out and about in the spring.

As the Easter break started for Northumberland schools, pupils from the Sele First School in Hexham took to the streets for their annual Easter Bonnet Parade.

Tynedale temperatures soared as high as 21C over the Easter weekend in 2019, and Hexham was predicted to be hotter than Barcelona.
