CROWDS turned out in Prudhoe today to pay tribute to the nation's war heroes.

Starting at The Legion car park, a parade marched through Front Street to Lychgate War Memorial, where the Act of Remembrance and the laying of the wreaths took place.

A service at St Mary Magdalene Church was then held.
