An MP and Councillor welcome road safety after a successful campaign
Tynedale MP, Guy Opperman and Prudhoe Town Councillor, Tracey Gilmore are pleased with the news that Northumberland County Council has revealed proposals for road safety around Highfield Lane where both Highfield Middle School and St Matthews Catholic Primary School.
The proposals follows a campaign by Guy Opperman and Tracey Gilmore to bring in road safety measures to protect the children at the nearby schools.
Something residents stressed their concerns about.

Guy Opperman MP said: “After years of campaigning for the safety of children at Highfield Middle School and St Matthews Catholic Primary School, I am delighted that NCC have come forward with a plan to address the real concerns of local residents”.
Cllr Tracey Gilmore adds:“I am very pleased that the concerns of local residents have been listened to following several meetings with school and council representatives”.
