A FAMILY fun day will be held on Saturday (August 6) to fundraise for Corbridge organisations.

Claire Henderson is the Manager of Corbridge Pre-school and Fundraising Officer for Corbridge United Junior Football Club.

She said Michael from the Blue Bell pub in Corbridge approached her to organise an event to fundraise for three different groups, including the Junior Football Club, Pre-School and Corbridge Youth-Initiative, which works with local young people.

Everyone is welcome, and the event will begin from 12pm.

There will be a barbeque, bouncy castle, face painting, a penalty shoot out, a tombola and raffle.

Money will be raised through a pound-a-go on the bouncy castle and prizes for the tombola and raffle.

After that, there will be an evening of live music from Kev Beadle and The Violet Chimes.

Money raised will help the football club to maintain their mini clubhouse, for the Youth Initiative to fund different resources, trips and initiatives, and for the pre-school to pay for resources and equipment.

Claire said: "The pre-school is a community interest company and we keep our fees low so all families can access care and education. All money is reinvested back into the school.

"The football club is also always looking to fundraise to keep their fees low, so all children can access football."

Claire added Corbridge Youth-Intitiative 'do a brilliant job for youths in the village'.
