Area Manager, Rob Clow who organized the NFRS convoy said: "The team from Northumberland Fire & Rescue Service safely delivered three vehicles to a destination in Poland.

"The handover of the vehicles to our Ukrainian colleagues on Sunday, May 8 was an emotional occasion, when the full magnitude of what the team had achieved sank in.

"Having driven almost 1,500 miles, the team will be making their way back to the UK over the next couple of days.

"This has been a fantastic effort, as part of a national convoy of 24 vehicles led by the National Fire Chiefs' Council and Fire Aid."
