A PRIMARY school embraced its love of reading by turning World Book Day into a whole week of book-related experiences.
Bellingham Primary School embraced its love of reading Julia Donaldson stories by making World Book Day into a whole week of book-linked experiences.
They started off the week with whole school activities linked to Julia's character 'Zog', an accident-prone dragon, making new stories and exploring the world of dragons and princesses.
Wendy Goddard, headteacher of the school, said: "Wednesday took the school to Kielder Forest and with the financial support from the Ray Wind Farm and Forestry England, had a free day out exploring the Gruffalo trail and building dens."

"Our older children were able to link the visit to their geography and history work looking at industry in our locality and will use this as part of the 'Beneath our Feet' project.
"On World Book Day itself all children were given their books and vouchers and enjoyed some of our favourite bedtime stories together with friends, teachers and family members.
"It was lovely to see children reading for pleasure and clearly enjoying their books," she added.
