A CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED comedian is set to perform at the Queen’s Hall next week.

Chris Ramsey is returning to the venue to test out some new material for his upcoming stand-up tour.

Chris first rose to prominence when he starred in the BBC series, Hebburn, in 2012.

More recently, he shot to prominence on Strictly Come Dancing, reaching the semi-final.

The tour will be the South Shields-born comic’s biggest to date, and many dates have already sold out.

Entitled Work in Progress, the Queen’s Hall show will see Chris standing on stage with notes, saying “some really funny stuff and possibly some stuff that isn’t funny quite yet".

The event will take place on Tuesday, March 3 at 7pm.

As well as Strictly, TV viewers will recognise Chris from The Chris Ramsey Show and Chris Ramsey’s Stand up Central, both of which air on Comedy Central.
