AN invitation to all authors to set aside specific time to write has been sent out.

Palp & Heft, a collaborative writing project by North-East authors Sarah Davy and Hilary Elder, will run its first pop-up writers’ room at Hexham’s branch of the Philosophical and Literature Society, on Hallstile Bank, on Saturday.

The event asks authors to come together to dedicate a full day of nothing but working on their writing.

Meeting at 10am, the group will make plans for the day over a hot drink before getting to work until breaking for lunch at 1pm. Another brief catch-up will follow, with authors able to get their heads back down until the event finishes just before 5pm. A small period will be put aside for a chat about progress and a celebration of other people’s works.

Wark resident Sarah Davy is well-known throughout Tynedale having worked as author-in-residence at Corbridge-based Forum Books.
