PEOPLE across the Tyne Valley are being invited to give yoga a try for free as part of a national initiative.

To coincide with National Iyengar Day on January 18, Aimi Dunstan will run a session open to all ages and abilities at the Moot Hall in Hexham from 1.30pm on Saturday.

Aimi runs four weekly classes in the town and wanted to open up the activity to a wider audience.

She said: “As an Iyengar yoga teacher, it’s an opportunity to share yoga with those who already practise but also with those who are interested in coming to classes.

“It’s for all abilities and you don’t have to have done any yoga before to get involved because it is primarily about getting people to try yoga and experience the benefits of it.”

Aimi runs mixed-ability classes at the Moot Hall on Mondays at 10am, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9.30am. She also runs a men’s only class at Hexham’s Wentworth Leisure Centre at 7.45pm on Mondays.
