WENTWORTH Leisure centre is set to become an Aladdin’s cave of wonders as the popular antiques fair returns to town on January 14.

Organised by Colin Caygill and his team, Hexham Antiques, Vintage, Retro & Collectors Fair is one of the most successful one day, mid-week fairs in the UK and has been a monthly staple of Hexham since June, 1991.

Buyers come from all over the region to view the items at more than 100 stalls, with stallholders throughout the years coming from as far afield as Scotland, Teesside – and France.

People can peruse a wide selection of ceramics, glass, jewellery, books, vintage linen, postcards, coins, militaria, old tools, furniture and lighting at the fair.

Colin originally chose Hexham, and specifically the Wentworth Leisure Centre, because of the vibrancy of the town, the large car park and its proximity to the railway station.

The fair will be open from 9.30am until 3.30pm.
