A FASCINATING talk will explore the work of the region’s most inspirational women.

The Rt. Hon. Baroness Joyce Quin will speak at Tynedale U3A’s monthly meeting on Monday.

Baroness Quin, a former MEP for Tyne and Wear and Member of Parliament for Gateshead East, was appointed to the House of Lords in 2006.

She is also an Honorary Fellow of Sunderland University and of St. Mary’s College, University of Durham.

Her subject is ‘Angels of the North’, based on her book of the same title. It is a reminder and a celebration of some of the North-East’s most remarkable women.

She will look at 40 women who are either from the North-East or have strong connections to it and focuses on the successes, achievements and ambitions of these women.

The meeting will be in the Great Hall of Hexham Abbey from 2pm.
