Royal Northern Sinfonia lead a walk down The Great White Way on December 19 in an evening showcasing the musicals that have put Broadway firmly on the map.

Christmas on Broadway at Sage Gateshead features favourites from iconic Broadway shows, plus a little something extra to get into the Christmas spirit.

Join the orchestra and four leading musical theatre soloists; bring your Guys and Dolls; head down 42nd Street to the South Pacific; and team up with A Chorus Line to enjoy The Sound of Music. You can create your own West Side Story and maybe you’ll meet The Wizard of Oz.

The evening of Broadway hits and Christmas classics will be directed and compered by internationally renowned orchestral and musical theatre conductor Michael England, who has led numerous West End productions including The Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesty’s Theatre), Les Misérables (Palace Theatre) and The Producers (Drury Lane).

Christmas on Broadway starts at 7.30pm on December 19. The concert is part of the RNS’s Christmas series, which also features a New Year’s Day concert full of Viennese waltzes and polkas.
