THE final instalment of a long list of music events will round off a lively 2019.

On Saturday, the last Brewery Sessions event of the year will take place in the Twice Brewed Brew House Tap Room, near Bardon Mill.

Hosted by Haltwhistle folk singer Ian K. Brown, the music sessions have proved popular throughout the year, with a number of North-East acts heading to the district to perform.

To bring 2019’s series to a close, contemporary folk rocker Hadrian’s Union have been booked to play.

The four-piece is made up of local musicians, with Robin Jowett (melodeon and keys) Penny Kempson (violin and viola), Brian Bell (bass guitar), Saul Rose (drums) and Stew Simpson (guitar and vocals) featuring in the band who are well-known throughout the Tyne Valley.

They have released three albums, starting with their debut offering, Trapped in Time, in 2011.

It was quickly followed by In Your Own Time in 2012, while third album, Aural Borderalis, was released in 2017.

Host Ian K. Brown, who will warm up the crowd ahead of Hadrian’s Union’s performance, said: “The very popular, lively, sensitive punk folk rock band return to the Brew House for a very special Yuletide evening.”

As part of his act, Ian has promised to play some of his favourite songs as well as a few seasonal tunes which only get aired in December.

He also mentioned that a few surprises are planned for the evening.

Doors open for the concert in the intimate location at 7.45pm on Saturday.
