A TV comedian is returning to his roots to lay bare his experiences of living with a disability.

Laurence Clark, who has cerebral palsy, is bringing his new stand-up show An Irresponsible Father’s Guide to Parenting to Hexham’s Queen Hall on Saturday, November 30, returning to the town he grew up in.

The comedy show is in response to negative online comments Laurence and his wife Adele, who also has the same disability, received after they featured in BBC2 documentary We Won’t Drop the Baby.

The TV programme followed the couple as they were expecting their second boy and, while the feedback was largely positive, some of the comments were deeply insulting.

An Irresponsible Father’s Guide to Parenting, which will start at 8pm, is a tongue-in-cheek reaction to these messages, and the show usually includes starring roles from Laurence’s sons Tom (14) and Jamie (8).
