A TWO-day beer festival will take place at St John’s Church Shotley, Snod’s Edge, this weekend.

The Snods Beer Festival attracts crowds from across the district who enjoy the live music, wide selection of locally brewed beers and ciders. However, thirsty customers will have to wait for the bar to open while the vicar, Canon Geoff Purcell-Smith, blesses the beer.

“The festival provides an opportunity to remind us of God’s gifts of water, sunshine and the crops,” he said. “Blessing the beer is a perfect way to offer thanksgiving prayers with a wider audience.” The festival will get under way at 6pm on Friday.
