SOME of the most memorable stories from a playwright and author regarded as one of the greatest writers of short fiction will be performed in a fun and accessible way.

Performed by Dragonboy Productions, In and Out of Chekhov’s Shorts will see a cast of five tell stories such as The Lady with the Little Dog, The Chemist’s Wife, At a Summer Villa, An Avenger and The Bear at Hexham’s Queen’s Hall on Monday evening.

Anton Pavlovich Chekhov’s work is well-known across the globe, and the team’s performance will feature live music and ensemble story-telling.

A spokesman for the production team said: “These wonderful hymns to the absurdity of everyday life, are by turns hilarious, romantic, poignant, odd and memorable.

“Ludicrous situations and larger than life characters abound in an evening that simply cannot be missed.”
