A VILLAGE tradition is to return on its 50th anniversary after a five-year break.

Ovingham Goose Fair was reinstated in 1969, becoming a much-anticipated event in the village’s calendar.

But due to work on Ovingham Bridge and flooding issues, it has not taken place since 2013. A smaller and more traditional version of the fair will return on Saturday, with some village stalls including the W.I., a craft stall, Ovingham Community Orchard and Go Local, and a food van.

There will be children’s games by the Ovi-Fun team, who have previously ran an annual event in the village.
