OLDER people are being invited to dust off their dancing shoes.

On Friday, May 31, the Torch Centre in Hexham will play host to the free ‘Dance through the decades’ event aimed at getting older people active, both physically and socially.

The event, part of the Royal Voluntary Service and Prudential’s ‘First Time for Everything’ programme, will run between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

Professional dancer Laura Jane Jenkins, of JLJ Fitness, will lead the event with music from the 1940s to the present day.

No dancing experience is necessary as the event is open to all.
