ONE of the most popular children’s stories will be brought to life on stage.

The Tiger Who Came to Tea, written by Judith Kerr, has been adapted into a musical play by David Wood, and the production will head to Queen’s Hall, in Hexham, as part of its tour.

The play, suitable for children aged three and over, was nominated for the prestigious Olivier Award and is celebrating more than 10 years on stage.

The story explores the capers of a tea-guzzling tiger who unexpectedly calls on a girl, and her mum.

The Tiger Who Came to Tea was due to start on Wednesday night and will conclude tonight.
