THERE’S nowt so queer as folk, or so the saying goes.

And that is also the name for a pop-up comedy club event in Hexham’s Tannery pub with some recognisable names from the world of British stand-up comedy.

A name to watch out for is Rahul Kohli who, when not touring the country making audiences laugh, can be see on people’s television screens.

While best known for play Dr Ravi Chakrabarti in iZombie and for appearing on YouTube channel Funhaus, he has also appeared in Holby City and Eastenders. His appeal has spread to America too and he will follow up an appearance on Supergirl by featuring in the animated Harley Quinn this year.

Joining Kohli at the event will be Manchester comic Dan Sutcliffe, who is celebrating 10 years in stand-up comedy, and female comedian Sam Mayes.

The evening will be compered by popular comedian Rob Mulholland who has made a big name for himself throughout the UK.

He has written for hit BBC panel show Mock the Week and is a regular feature on Panel Beaters, while he has performed at the past three Edinburgh Fringe Festivals.

There’s Nowt So Queer As Folk will take place tonight at 8.30pm, and is for adults only.
