AN exhibition of Japanese-inspired art will take place at Allendale Forge Studios throughout March.

Inspired by a floating world is the work of Marion Woolcott, Julia Neubauer and Ray Ogden who will showcase their work from March 2 to March 31.

Ray Ogden is a printmaker and illustrator working with digital media. His work sees him incorporate playful graphic ideas and abstract qualities to underpin the figurative imagery of his work. Stylised bird and animal motifs feature frequently, reflecting his interest in indigenous people’s art forms and the aesthetic of the Japanese print.

Ju-ma is a collaboration between Julia Neubauer and Marion Woolcott, incorporating their skills in hand-framed knitting and weaving. They use Japanese influences to produce kimono style garments and accessories using a defined colour palette, intricate weave patterns and subtle detailing.
