A BLEND of traditional Scottish music will reverberate around Hexham’s Queen’s Hall on Saturday night.

The Tannahill Weavers are preparing to bring their mixture of traditional ballads and instrumentals to a Tynedale audience from 7.30pm on Saturday.

Over the years, the Tannies, as they are known by their followers, have been trailblazers for Scottish music and have played at venues across the world.

The band were inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame in 2011, and they are regarded as one of the premier groups on the Celtic concert stage.

As the literature on promotional material claims: “From reflective ballads to foot-stomping reels and jigs, the variety and range of the material they perform is matched only by their enthusiasm and lively Celtic spirits.” Tickets are available from the Queen’s Hall Box Office.
