A PAIR of musicians from Tynedale are bringing their signature sound to Hadrian’s Wall this weekend.

Folk music outfit the Brothers Gillespie will be playing at the Twice Brewed Inn on Saturday – the latest in the inn’s monthly gigs known as ‘the Brewery Sessions.’

The regular gigs have seen some of the best of the district’s musicians perform at the inn, including Landermason and Hadrian’s Union.

James and Sam Gillespie will promoting their latest album – the Tyne Valley inspired The Fell, which they launched with a gig at the Queen’s Hall in December to much acclaim.

The brothers grew up listening to the likes of Leonard Cohen, Simon and Garfunkel and Jim Morrison, although they say that the biggest influence of their latest album is Hexham’s war poet Wilfred Gibson.

The brothers will be supported on the night by host, Ian K. Brown, who is also promoting his latest album – One Voice, One Guitar, while the North Tyne’s Maggie Feeney will be opening the evening.

Recent Brewery Sessions have sold out, but seats can be reserved through the Twice Brewed Inn’s Facebook page.

The gig gets under way at 7.05pm and there will also be a raffle on the night.
