THE debut live performance of a musical collaboration between a hip hop collective and a Hexham band will take place at The Vault this weekend.

The Warm Collective (TWC) is a North-East based hip hop collective which includes rappers and singers from Angola and Gambia.

And Snazzy Kex is the name of three Hexham-based musicians, who with The Warm Collective, have been working on an album project written and recorded in Hexham for the past year.

Plans are in place to release the album later in the year with an EP on vinyl coming out in the spring.

The musicians will perform together at the Vault, on Hexham’s Hallgate, on Saturday night for the first time.

Those attending can expect to see influences of funk, hip-hop, soul, reggae and afrobeat, with the collaboration producing a mix of old and new music.

The Warm Collective have recently returned from Gambia where they have set up a charitable foundation called Time for Change Foundation.

Proceeds from the Vault gig will go towards the band’s charitable foundation work.

Doors open at 7.30pm on Saturday night and it is advised that tickets are booked in advance.
