WHITFIELD Village Fair will return this weekend offering a variety of traditional entertainment.

The show is popular with locals and visitors, and is a much-anticipated event now in its 11th year.

The event’s popular dog show is expected to attract plenty of entries.

Last year more than 80 contestants took part, showing off various breeds including spaniels, collies and Labradors.

Terrier racing will follow, and dog agility will be delivered by Canny Canines.

Vintage tractors and motorcycles will take their places on the showfield, and children will be kept entertained with plenty of activities including a bouncy castle.

The industrial tent, which always attracts a strong stream of entries, will be filled with adults’ cookery, jams, drinks, crafts, photography, eggs and classes just for men.

The show will run from 10am to 4pm on Sunday on the village field.

All entries need to be staged by 12pm.
