And with second-placed Macclesfield the visitors to Corbridge tomorrow, Andy Buist‘s men will have to produce a top class performance to prevent themselves slipping further into the mire.
Macclesfield were relegated along with Tynedale fron National One at the end of last term, but the men from Treacle Town already seem to be making a better fist of bouncing back, with four wins out of five.
After suffering a surprise 22-5 defeat at Stourbridge on the opening day of the season, Macclesfield have subsequently won four in a row. They enjoyed home victories over Caldy (34-27) and Preston Grasshoppers (31-3) before thrashing bottom side, Broadstreet 53-27 on their own patch.
Last Saturday, the Macclesfield forwards were again dominant, scoring five of their seven tries in an impressive 47-19 home win over South Leicester.
The game kicks off at 3pm.
