It was to be a great race for the Hexham partnership of R&K Dodds as they timed the only three arrivals to give them 1,2, 3 in the club, 1,2,4 in the Consett Federation and three in the top 10 of the West Durham Amalgamation.
A race was also held from Billericay, in Essex, for yearlings only, which had an entry of 54 birds sent by six members which earned victory for G. Dodd. Prudhoe and District Homing Society held a race from Peterborough, a distance of 178 miles, Jamie Hall & Son triumphant.
