HAVING worked with legendary trainer Freddie Roach, a Northumberland boxer is putting the hours in as he aims to secure victory in his upcoming bouts in the North-East.

Professional middleweight Danny Wall, of Pegswood, near Morpeth, has returned from an intense training camp at Wild Card Boxing Gym in Los Angeles as he prepares for his upcoming fights.

Danny has three fights lined up between May and July, with key dates being at Sunderland at Rainton Meadow on May 28 and Stadium of Light on July 10.

He has won both his previous two fights after making his return to professional boxing following a five-year stint away from the ring to raise a family.

Danny said: “I took five years out from boxing and had a family, but now I’m back in full-time training and working everyday to better myself as an athlete.

“I had a great time training at Wild Card Boxing Gym in LA. It was a real eye opener but brilliant to be there and train with the legendary Freddie Roach.

”It really helped with my confidence and that showed in my fight. Right now my mind is focused on training for the next four fights I have coming up.“
