HALTWHISTLE Jubilee moved into the semi finals of the Northumberland FA Minor Cup with a battling 2-1 win over AFC Newbiggin Reserves.

Goals from Thomas Wilkie and Scot Jacobsen saw them through. James Charteries was named man of the match.

Into the semis of this cup in our first season as a Saturday team is a great achievement, and credit to the whole squad of players.

Morpeth Town Seniors became the first side to take a point from Stobswood Welfare this season with a battling 2-2 draw. Reece Wright gave Stobswood the lead but Jack Freeman and Simon Farrier had turned the game on its head by the interval. Phil Airey levelled the game early in the second half but Morpeth held on for a well deserved draw.

Newbiggin Hall Vettic also earned a share of the spoils against high-flying Jesmond FC, picking up just their fifth point of the season. Scotty Maddison bagged a brace for Jesmond with Harvey Bex also on the scoresheet, but strikes from David Bone, Shaun Cheetham and Jack Davison ensured level-pegging at the end.

Wideopen and District A were desperately close to securing a first point since August, but were denied by a last minute Matthew Carnell winner for Newcastle Medicals. Connor Bland also scored for Medics, with Craig Shipperly countering for Wideopen.

Forest Hall YPC claimed a very impressive win at champions Ponteland by a 6-0 scoreline. Jonny Irvine was their hero, netting four times, with Matty Irvine and Colyn Liddle completing their tally.

West Jesmond won 4-3 at Killingworth YPC Cobras, with Myles Ferraro bagging a brace and Sonny March and Ed Shanks also on target. Abdul Abeid scored twice for the hosts with Danny Henry also netting.

Leaders Ellington beat Chemfica Amateurs 5-0, with Martin Humble scoring a hat trick and Jordan Lashley adding a pair.
