Both St Joseph’s Middle School, Hexham, and Corbridge Middle School made their way through as county champions, making it a great day for West Northumberland at Stocksfield. Playing five games each to make their respective finals, the unbeaten teams pushed on to reach the regionals as St Joe’s beat Gosforth Central and Corbridge eliminated Ponteland Middle.
Tom Cant, West Northumberland’s cricket development officer, said: “Well done to all that took part as there was a fantastic standard throughout the day, with some huge scores posted across both competitions.”
