In Division Two of the North East Premier League, the Barber brothers were once again in good form as Tynedale Second XI followed up last week's comfortable home win against Castle Eden with an equally emphatic victory at Priors Flat against their Hetton Lyons counterparts.
After losing the toss and being put in to bat, Tynedale's main contributors in their total of 168 all out were Joe Barber (43), Craig Barber (47) and Archie Fletcher (39), before the visitors collapsed from 72-2 to 107 all out in 29.1 overs.
Most of the damage was done by Craig Barber (4-7 off 5.1 overs) and Hugo Odd (3-31).
In Division One of the Northumberland and Tyneside League, Matfen won by two wickets at Alnmouth & Lesbury.
The hosts were dismissed for 142 with Asif Iqbal and Mirza Balal Baig both taking three wickets, before No.9 Baig (14 not out) and No.10 Amin Ul Faisal (12 not out) guided Matfen home in the 47th over.
Also in Division One, hosts Stocksfield were indebted to Luke Doneathy (87) and Sam Beedle (62 not out from only 29 balls) as they posted a challenging total of 273-5 from the allotted 50 overs against Consett.
In reply, the visitors were dismissed for 237 with the bulk of the wickets taken by William Archbold (5-40 off 12 overs) and Sam Beedle (3).
In Division Two, there was a welcome first home win of the season for Corbridge.
After restricting Warkworth to 193-7 from their 50 overs, Jacques Du Toit (47 not out) and Joe Anderson (55 not out) shared an unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 80 as Corbridge coasted to victory with more than seven overs to spare.
In Division Three, opener Dan Mills top-scored for hosts Allendale in their total of 184 all out against Alnmouth & Lesbury Second XI who were then dismissed for 101, with the pick of the bowlers being Liam Pringle (3-24 off 10 overs) and Jonny Wallace (4-25 off 10 overs).
In Division Four South, Daniel Cole, Andrew Wood and Emerson Brown all took three wickets for Stocksfield Second XI as hosts Consett Second XI were dismissed for 103.
In reply, Andrew Wood (36 not out) and Richard Boschen (34 not out) ensured an early finish as Stocksfield reached their target in only 18.1 overs with nine wickets in hand.
In Division Five South, leaders Annfield Plain recorded a seventh win of the season at Humshaugh who were dismissed for only 72 with most of the damage done by Daniel Smith (6-12 off 9 overs).
Stamfordham (second) are two points ahead of both South Northumberland (third) and Greenside (fourth) after recording a sixth win of the season at Matfen.
Batting first, eight players reached double figures in their total of 204-8 before Matfen were all out for 91 in 24.4 overs. Their star bowler was Craig Johnston (5-47 off 9 overs).
The closest finish of the day came at Tynemouth in Division Six South where visitors Stocksfield Third XI won by two runs.
No.9 Nomi Numan (45) top-scored for the visitors in their total of 167-9 from the allotted 40 overs before the hosts lost their final wicket off the penultimate ball of the innings needing only three runs for victory.
All six Stocksfield bowlers were among the wickets, including Antony Allen (3) and Numan (2).
In Division Six West, Clara Vale (208 points) and Newbrough (207 points) continue to set the pace, with third-placed Belsay already 44 points adrift after eight games.
Clara Vale won by 129 runs at Haltwhistle, while Newbrough won by four wickets at Wylam with more than 13 overs to spare.
Wylam were dismissed for 142 with the wickets shared by James Liddell (3), Poppy Forster (4) and Martin Forster (3), before crucial knocks from Graeme Robbie (45) and James Gibbons (33 not out) saw Newbrough continue their best ever start to a season.
