HAYDON Bridge-based boxer Finn Welch extended his winning streak to eight in Blyth last month.

Taking part in 'The HomeShow' kickboxing event, the teenager made his professional K1 debut in the 71kg division against an older and more experienced fighter in Sheffield-based Lewis Guest.

Welch took control of the three round fight from the first bell, landing heavy hand combinations along with knees to the head, and powerful low kicks.

Guest absorbed all of these blows and somehow made it to the final bell.

However, Welch continued his rise up the ladder by taking the win on a unanimous decision.
