In Division One of the O'Neill Richmonds West Tyne Senior Cricket League, Riding Mill remain on course to clinch the title for the first time following another easy win at Newton.
Andy Watson (4-15 off 8 overs) and Michael Collins (4-19 off 8 overs) did most of the damage as the hosts were dismissed for a modest total of 71. The league leaders cruised to victory by nine wickets in the ninth over, with opener Joe Pattison unbeaten on 41.
At the other end of the table, Rob Forster (126 not out) starred with the bat for Humshaugh in their win at Belsay. The North Tyne side posted a season's best total of 227-5 before dismissing the hosts for 128 with three wickets for Will Forster and Will Moss.
In Division Two, Wylam won by 114 runs at Newbrough. Richard Opie (43) and 32 extras were the main contributors in Wylam's total of 153 all out. All six Newbrough bowlers were among the wickets, highlighted by Bertie Spence (3-9 off 4 overs). In reply, Spence (16) offered most resistance as the hosts suffered a spectacular collapse from 39-4 to 39 all out. Richard Opie (4-1 off 2.2 overs) was Wylam's star bowler, while Ali Hafeez, Jago Opie and Frazer Gray all took two wickets.
In the Premier Division of the North East Premier League, Tynedale remain without a win for two months and have dropped into the relegation zone following their latest defeat at Sunderland.
In contrast, their second team remain on course for promotion from Division Three following a winning draw at Priors Flat against leaders Sunderland. Will Marrow (166 from 11 balls) and James Rainford (108 from 90 balls) added 205 for the fourth wicket in the Hexham side's impressive total of 350-5 declared.
In Division Two of the Northumberland and Tyneside Cricket League, Marcus Sewell (70), Mark Rowell (56 not out) and Matthew Percival (45) helped Corbridge reach 261-5 at home to Seaton Burn. The visitors were then dismissed for 127. All four Corbridge bowlers were among the wickets, with most success enjoyed by James Percival (4-26).
In Division Four, Hexham Leazes came out on top in a low scoring match at Clara Vale. Tom Mawson (5-15) and Alex Brown (3-13) did most of the damage as the hosts were dismissed for only 54.
In Division Six South, Corbridge second team won by 170 runs against their Hexham Leazes counterparts. Dave Smurthwaite (125 not out from 103 balls) and James Craig (49 from 53 balls) starred with the bat as Corbridge reached 265-9 from the allotted 40 overs. The hosts were then dismissed for 95 in 20.4 overs, with the wickets shared between Chris Jowsey (3), Katie Chomse (2), Finlay Burrows (2) and Jake Wilson (2).
