Sunderland star Alex Pritchard has confirmed his intention to leave the Black Cats in this month's transfer window.
The 30-year-old midfielder is out of contract at the Stadium of Light in the summer, and has now made himself unavailable for selection as he seeks a move away this month.
It was confirmed ahead of Sunderland's game against Stoke City on Saturday, January 27 that Pritchard would not be in Michael Beale's squad.
On their website, Sunderland wrote: "On Friday morning, Alex Pritchard informed the Club that he was no longer available for selection and he subsequently withdrew from today’s matchday squad.
"The midfielder also expressed his desire to leave SAFC with immediate effect.
"The Club will be making no further comment at this moment in time."
Pritchard joined Sunderland in 2021 and has made 115 appearances in his three years in the north east, scoring nine goals and providing 25 assists.
