Bardon Mill Bowes Lyons had a bumper weekend in the Hexham and District Sunday League – putting 11 goals in the back of the net.

Their ESI Ltd Division One fixture was at Haydon Bridge United who scored two in reply but in the end it was a convincing win for the visitors.

There was an eight goal thriller as Hexhamshire played host to Crawcrook Fox and Hounds but again it was the visiting side who took the spoils.

At the end of 90 minutes it was the Fox and Hounds who came out on top 5-3.

Haltwhistle Railway picked up their victory points at home, when they got the better of Riding Mill with a 4-0 scoreline.

And the final game in the division was between Hexham Phoenix and Prudhoe Halfway House.

There was nothing much to choose between the two sides with Phoenix just edging the game by a lone goal.

In The Phoenix Hexham Division Two, Halfway House United narrowly got the better of Allendale FC with a 3-2 victory.

It was easier pickings for Crawcrook Social who put seven goals in the back of the net against Heddon FC without reply.

Wark FC made the most of their home advantage to edge out a narrow victory over Barrasford 3-2 while the game between Michelangelos and St Dominics was postponed.

In the DCFA Sunday Cup the clash between Stillington Royal and Up The Street went all the way to penalties.

The two teams were deadlocked at 4-4 before spot kicks came into play, with Stillington taking the win.
