The wet weather was the winner in Division One of the West Tyne Cricket League last weekend, although a number of Division Two matches were able to beat the rain and take place.

An incredibly tight game took place at Humshaugh, with their 2nds side managing to defeat rivals Mitford 2nds by just three runs.

After electing to bat first, Humshaugh scored 172 all out which included a stunning 101 from Glen Tweddle, with Steven Arnup also adding a knock of 40 to their total.

In response, Mitford could only manage 169 all out, with Arnup again starring for his side with the ball.

The bowler took four wickets for 24 runs and as a result helped his side secure a narrow win.

At Haltwhistle, their 2nds saw a fine performance from captain Callum Snowdon as the batsman hit 71 not out to help inspire his side to a six wicket win over Hexham Leazes.

The side - who also saw Andy Wrightson hit 36 - met their 149 target after just 17 of their 40 overs.

Matt Joyce top scored for their opponents with a knock of 40, while Stefan Yeatman also hit 29.

At Allendale, John Raglan scored 57 and fellow batsman Phil Sheldon scored 41 as they went on to beat Stocksfield 4ths by a total of five wickets.

The reduced overs match saw Stocksfield set a score of 138/4 from their innings, although Allendale were able to claim the victory after hitting their run target during the final over of the match.

Medomsley were set to face Clara Vale however the game was unable to take place due to the rain while Riding Mill - who now lead Division Two - saw their opponents Wark forced to concede the game on Saturday.
