Both Tynedale and Stocksfield claimed victories in Division One of the Northumberland and Tyneside Cricket League last weekend.

Tynedale, who continued their fine form after previously defeating Leadgate, claimed a seven wicket win over Swalwell, with the side seeing captain Thomas Cant top scoring with 52.

The hosts were set 126 to win their match on Saturday afternoon and only dropped three wickets on their way to the win.

Stocksfield travelled to Percy Main and walked away with the win after chasing down their target of 135.

The visitors saw captain Steven Henderson hit 70 while Christopher Scandle and Chris Patterson both took four wickets each on their way to the win.

In Division Two, Ponteland have fallen to second place in the league after they were beaten by Backworth.

The visitors had earlier been bowled out for just 61 with Iftikhaar Fazal the only player to make double figures with 30, and their opponents claimed the victory with a reply of 63/5.

Corbridge beat Alnmouth & Lesbury in Division Three by nine wickets with Chris Jowsey and Andrew Dover both starring with the ball.

Jowsey conceded just 16 runs for his five wickets as the side claimed a dominant victory, while Dover gave away just seven runs for four wickets.

The result couldn't be matched however by either Stocksfield 2nds, who lost out by 140 runs to Ashington Rugby which included a 89 from Colin Thornton, or Allendale, who conceded their game to Stobswood Welfare.

Tynedale 2nds claimed a big win over Swalwell in Division Four with Paul Scandle and Craig Barber impressing with the bat, while Ponteland 2nds defeated Backworth 2nds by 54 runs.

Riding Mill lost out to Greenside in Division Five South, while Corbridge 2nds were beaten by 15 runs by Ryton 2nds in Division Six South.
