A number of Hexham junior sides have performed well in recent days in a variety of leagues and cup competitions.

Last weekend saw Hexham Green’s U17s clinch the Pin Point Saturday Premier League after a big win over rivals North Shields away from home.

A hat trick a piece from both Matty Kilby and Dan Simpson gave the Green’s a huge 0-6 win, meaning they have now clinched the title as a result.

After going in at half time 0-3 up, Hexham decided to play deeper in the second half and controlled the remainder of the game as they went on to claim the title win.

The away side dominated throughout the match, with the only negative aspect of the game being a knee injury that was suffered by Will Burns as he attempted to score the side’s third goal in the first half.

With both Kilby and Simpson on the scoresheet, another player to impress was Jarno Ambalez and he was named as the side’s Man of the Match for his performance.

At U10 level, another victory went to Hexham’s Roma side, who clinched the West Division Cup after being Stocksfield at Corbridge last Wednesday (May 12).

A close game saw both sides compete on a smaller pitch that ensured the ball kept moving, but it was the Hexham team who came out on top.

Several other Hexham’s junior sides are also set to compete in West Division Cup Finals later this month too, including at U11, U12 and U15 level.
