Bardon Mill Bowes Lyons put seven goals past local rivals Haltwhistle Railway in a high scoring affair on Tuesday evening.

Both Jack Barker and Dan Kirkup scored twice in the match which was played in soaking wet conditions, with Bardon Mill claiming the victory after a huge 2-7 win.

Further strikes from Rob Hayes, Jamie Ellwood and Ollie Cartwright helped the visitors claim the three points, while Sam Crump was named Man of the Match for the league frontrunners.

The Bowes had played out a 0-0 draw - their fourth clean sheet in a row - against fellow frontrunners Prudhoe Halfway House in their match on Sunday morning.

Also on Tuesday evening, Crawcrook Fox & Hounds made it two wins in three days after a 1-0 win over Heddon FC - the hosts had already defeated Haltwhistle Railway two days previously by a scoreline of 1-4.

On Sunday morning, Haydon Bridge Social Club were another team to score seven after thumping Wark.

The away side put in a dominant display with both Kian Mckinnel and Aaron Hardy both getting twice on the scoresheet in the victory, with Hardy also being given MOTM.

Haydon Bridge also saw Owen Hogg, Joe Murgatroyd and Kieran Robley find the back of the net on their way to the win.

Riding Mill meanwhile defeated Heddon FC 2-6, with Matty Bloomer - who scored twice - Dale Dodds, Dale Graham, Joe Mack and James Reay all finding the back of the next.

In Division Two, Up the Street beat Heddon United U23’s 0-2 while Michelangelos defeated Heddon Utd Reserves 2-1.

A close game also saw Halfway House United defeat Barrasford by a scoreline of 3-2 with Sam Mannion helping himself to a brace.

In the NFA Sunday Cup. Burradon hit five goals against Hexham Phoenix while Sunderland West End beat FC Ryton 4-1 in the DFA Sunday Cup.
