Prudhoe Youth Club Seniors sealed their spot in the Combination Cup final after a big win against Rothbury on Saturday afternoon.

The away side, who had previously won their group to make it into the semi-finals, secured a large 0-4 win at the weekend in fine style.

Goals from Harry Mitchell - who was also named Man of the Match - Arron Fletcher, Matty Robinson and Ricky Hayes saw Prudhoe make it through to the final after a fantastic performance away from home.

In the final, they’ll play Cramlington United, who beat Hebburn Town U23s in the other semi-final 1-2 in a hard-fought game.

Cramlington, who made it out of group three after having a better head to head record against Hexham, had defeated the Wentworth-side 3-0 last Wednesday evening to secure their progression to the semi-final.

Prudhoe, who had already progressed to the semi-finals before their game with Whitley Bay Sporting Club, ended their group stage campaign with a 0-0 draw knowing they were already group winners.

The final between the two sides is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 19 at East Palmersville Sports Complex, Forest Hall with a kick-off time of 7pm, although it will take place behind closed doors.

Last midweek also saw Haltwhistle Jubilee end their season already knowing they couldn’t progress out of their group.

The Burn side played out a 1-1 draw at home to Whitburn and Cleadon with Aaron Hardy getting on the scoresheet for The Jubes.

Hexham will go into their Northumberland FA Minor Cup tie on the back of a defeat as they lost 3-0 at home to Cramlington United.

They will travel to Newcastle East End on Saturday, May 15, for that match up.
