FOR Wallington, an early finish to the season pretty much summed up a frustrating campaign for the Northern Alliance Premier Division side.

The Greens had played half of their league fixtures when the decision to end the season came, the Scots Gap outfit falling victim to many postponements this term.

In fact, their opening fixture of the campaign in August was called off for heavy rain. Between September and November, they played just one game in the space of eight weeks.

The lack of action added to the side’s frustrations as they were in good form before their extended early season break.

Long-serving midfielder Kyle Reardon said: “It’s been quite a frustrating season in a lot of ways.

“Only the top four teams have conceded fewer goals than us. We conceded 26 and the teams around us have conceded 40.

“But we have only scored 24 which is considerably fewer than others, and scoring goals has been our biggest frustration.”
