OFFICIALS at Tynedale RFC are reviewing the club's summer programme of events in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

The Corbridge-based club discovered on Friday that the rugby season is now over, and has also had to close its clubhouse and gym in accordance with government regulations.

A club statement read: "We do not at this stage have any information regarding promotion or relegation issues. As soon as we have this information, we will let you know. The current indication is that this information will be available in April.

"The summer months are a busy time at Tynedale Park with numerous events taking place on the ground. These events form a significant part of our annual income. At this point in time we are in discussions with the various organisers regarding the continuation, or otherwise, of these events. We will keep you updated when final decisions are made.

"On behalf of the Management Committee, we would like thank everyone for their support over the season and hope that we will see you all soon. Most importantly, please stay safe."
