THERE have been plenty of goals in matches involving Ponteland’s junior teams.

Ponteland Munich U15 drew 1-1 away to Cramlington Town Yellows. Despite strong winds, both teams put on a good display of football.

Ponteland, with the wind at their backs, were first off the mark when Ben Kershaw slotted home from a well worked move.

The visitors then conceded an own goal before half time. Ponteland battled bravely in the second half with Thomas Scougall marshalling the defence superbly, and man of the match Joseph Nicholson coming close at the other end.

Ponteland Blacks lost 5-2 at home to Montague Reds. Despite a number of absentees, Ponteland went ahead through man of the match Haaris Quareshi.

Montague fought back to go in at half time with a one goal advantage.

They ran out winners in the second half despite a goal for the hard working Rhys Johnson.
