CHRIS Paisley opened with a three-under par score of 69 at this week's Qatar Masters.

The Stocksfield golfer's second round is now under way at the par 72 Doha Golf Club.

It comes after Paisley carded two sub-par rounds on his way to a comfortable top 50 place at last week's Oman Open.

The Stocksfield golfer finished tied for 43rd in Asia, in a field of 146, with an overall score of three-under par.

He made the halfway cut with rounds of 73 and 69, before adding rounds of 71 and 72 for a four-round total of 285.

The tournament was won by the 21-year-old Sami Välimäki, of Finland.

He tied on 13-under par with South African Brandon Stone, before winning a play-off to take the title.

Speaking about his own performance, Paisley said: “Not my best stuff this week in Oman, but I made the cut and my putting was brilliant all week.”
