AFTER weeks of frustrating postponements, this weekend looks set to be a footballing feast for local sports fans.
Two of the district’s Northern Alliance teams will compete in the semi-finals of the prestigious Northumberland FA Minor Cup on Saturday.
Hexham have been handed a home draw, and will take on Cramlington United at Wentworth Leisure Centre.
The tie, between two Division One sides, looks set to be a close one. But following a slow start to 2020, Hexham have enjoyed a good run of form in recent weeks.
The other semi-final is an all Division Two affair. League leaders Haltwhistle will travel to Jesmond, who are sixth in the division.
It would be a considerable coup for local football if both were to win, and set up an all-Tynedale final.
The two semi finals will kick off at 1.30pm on Saturday.
