THE Tynedale Point-to-Point was the biggest casualty as adverse weather took its toll on the district's sporting calendar at the weekend.
Organisers of the historic event, scheduled to take place at Downhills near Corbridge, announced early on Sunday morning that it would not go ahead due to a waterlogged course.
Tynedale Rugby Club's first team had to sit it out for a second successive weekend, after their match against Huddersfield, on Saturday, in National League Division Two North, was postponed for the second time.
In football, only one of the district's Northern Alliance teams made it onto the pitch. Hexham were 3-1 winners away to Wallsend Boys Club in Division One.
